The theme seen in Upgrade are  Investigation  This is shown when the main character is searching for the killer that killed his wife and made him disabled. This is shown in the seen where the main character has tracked down one of the killer that was  at the killing of his wife to their house. The theme then switches to the revenge as the main character kills the killer at the house and then goes searching for the other killers that where their that day as well but also goes back to investigating into who else was there. 1:27 Revenge  The one of the themes that is shown is revenge as the main character lover was killed and gripples him due to the incident that acquired.
